This store first started -pictured right- as J.C. Kelly Co. when our great-grandfather, John Kelly, first moved to Shepherd and opened its doors in 1908. Since then it has passed from father to son-in-law, Bob McClain (when it changed its name to McClain's), then to his son, Jim McClain, and most recently, to his daughter and present owner, Kim McClain.

          Our family has proudly served this small town for four generations. We grew up here in this store, talking (sometimes too much) to customers and making toilet paper forts in the middle of aisles (to our father's disappointment).

   We greatly appreciate this little town that we've called home for so many generations and we hope that you continue to let us serve you for many generations to come.
